Dear Jay and family,
Please know that I cherish memories of Evelyn and her hospitality as she entertained our family in her home many years ago. I still use the recipe book she gave me and remember her expressions of love and pride for her family. May the comfort of our Lord always be yours as you miss her sweet presence here.
Sincerely, Julia Smith of Brooksville
Any time spent with this beautiful woman, was a blessing! Her joyful spirit invited all who were near to join!! My heart is with your family, she loved and was loved by so many. There is no question Evelyn is now gazing, with perfect vision, upon Heavenly splendor!
Dear Jay and family,
She was such a sweet lady who exemplified the role of a Pastor's wife. Her life was a testimony for all to see. May the blessed assurance of her being with the Savior she loved and served be a source of peace for each of you.
Sending my love, sympathy and prayers to Jay and the family. I'm so sorry that due to my own illness, I can't attend the viewing or funeral. Evie was a wonderful person and friend down through the years and I will miss her.
We are so sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you as you grieve Evelyn. She sounds like a wonderful person and I know she will be missed.
Believing in you,

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I loved watching the memorial video and seeing the love and fun your family has shared over the years. I remember Evelyn from the early 70's and how sweet she always was to everyone. May God bless you during this very difficult time.
Sharing in your loss at this time. I knew this lady as my pastor’s wife in Brooksville FL and she was a very special lady, beautiful both inside and out. Pastor DeNeff I know you will miss her but with the promise of knowing that you will see her again. May God bless you as you walk this path, and from experience I can tell you that our Lord will surely be with you all the way. My prayers are with you.

So very sorry for your loss. Will be praying for you & for your family . I know He will give you all His sustaining strength. God bless you all. Faith Kensell, .Wesleyan Village.
It is obvious from the many kind expressions that Mrs. DeNeff will be sadly missed by all who knew her. I find comfort in knowing death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed.
God’s word is clear, “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces”. (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:4)
Further, we are guaranteed the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary. “Your dead will live....the earth will let those powerless in death come to life”. (Isaiah 26:19) Jesus spoke of the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), was himself resurrected by his Father and performed many miracles. All such miraculous events, including resurrections, took place on earth giving us a precious glimpse of what is to come! (Acts 24:15)
May Jehovah God continue to bless your family & those who knew Mrs. DeNeff in the days ahead as we await the fulfillment of his promises.....
Steve and Lori,
So sorry for your loss. I never met her, but it looks like she was a wonderful person. We pray that you will take comfort in knowing that she is dancing on streets of gold, and heaven got a little brighter when she stepped in.
Blessings to you,
Randy and Kathryn
Such memories flood all of us as we treasure such great times with the DeNeffs. Thank you for allowing God to use you in our lives on so many levels, as our pastor/wife, as counselors, as co-workers, having confidence in a young gal to come play the piano, friends, and allowing a new teacher to tend to some teenagers while you were away.
We love all of you and thank God for you. We are asking God to have a great time with her---we surely did.
To the entire family,
We are so sorry for your loss and pray for comfort and strength. Mrs. Evelyn DeNeff was always a special friend to my grandparents Robert & Louise Lytle, as well as a blessing to me during my time at CWC.
I treasure the memory of visiting her at Colonial Oaks with our therapy dog Emma. I think your dad was more fond of Emma than your mom! However she always seemed to think it neat that we would bring her by.
May you know His comfort during this time.
Your mother was a special person to our parents Nathan and Elizabeth Phillips and to us as well. I learned from watching and listening to her as she lived out her life as a wife, (pastor’s wife), parent of an adults, and grand parent. She is an example to all of us and will be missed. Her family was truly blessed.
Love in Christ,

Dear Pastor DeNeff and Jackie....We were saddened to hear of the death of your beautiful wife and mother, but realize that our loss is heaven's gain. We remember her sweet, gentle spirit and kind and loving ways. She was one of the first people we met when we first wintered in Wesleyan Village. Also remember Rev. DeNeff and the wonderful way in which he remembered all of our birthdays! We will never forget the impact these two very special saints had on our lives.
We trust that the many wonderful memories you have made over the years will serve as an inspiration and a comfort to you during the days ahead.
In Christian Love....

Prayers to you all at this difficult time. So thankful for the hope and promise that we will all be together again someday. Evelyn will be missed! She always had a smile and kind words to share.
To Pastor Steve & Family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the Homegoing of your mother. I always think of that great song that says, "...but just think of stepping on shore and finding it heaven ....." Your Mom has finished the race and gotten her Heavenly reward! May you all sense God's loving presence during this time!
I count myself blessed to have known Mrs. DeNeff. That is what I always called her. Every year when she received our Christmas letter, she would call me right away to tell me how happy she was to receive it and to wish me a personal Merry Christmas. I'm sure she did this for many, but it made me feel so special. I didn't realize that her middle name was Pearl until now, but is sure is fitting. She was a genuine pearl and she holds a special place in my heart.
I will be remembering her family in my prayers this week and that memories like this one will flood your inboxes. Keep and cherish them all.

We wish to pass our condolences to you all. Aunt Evie , she was always so sweet, helpful, and dear. I do not like to say was because she is and I look forward to seeing and talking to her again.
I remember being at the farm, oh how she enjoyed watching my reaction to drinking milk straight from the cow!!

I am celebrating Evie’s homegoing. She was such a wonderful example to me as a new pastor’s wife. I treasure our time together. Your family has always been a blessing to me. I pray your sweet memories will overwhelm the sadness you feel. Heaven is going to be so wonderful when we all get there. My love to you all especially Jay. I know he will miss her greatly.
