Terry L. McLain, 64, Swayzee, went to be with the Lord in his home at 3:08 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born in Marion on February 12, 1954, to the late Donald L. and Audrey J. (Booth) McLain. On September 20, 1974, Terry married Christine Williams, and she survives.
Terry was a graduate of Oak Hill High School. For the past three years, he worked in maintenance at Peerless Machines. He was previously employed at Tulox Plastics, where he worked in quality control for fourteen years. Terry was a member and officer of Swayzee Fire Department for 26 years.
Racing was a big part of Terry's life. He followed NASCAR and was involved with the Wood Brothers Racing Team. He loved and owned several Mustangs over the years. Terry especially enjoyed attending sporting events of his great-niece and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Christine; brothers, Donald (Carol) McLain, Marion, and Robert (Karla) McLain, Marion; nephews, Scott (Angela) Haley, Marion, Jeff (Allison) Haley, Noblesville, and Heath McLain, Marion; niece, April (Jeremy) Buuck, Fort Wayne; and many beloved great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Terry's funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor John Buckley officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
