Obituary of Darla Miller
Darla Miller, 57, LaFontaine, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Rolling Meadows in LaFontaine. She was born in Lubbock, Texas, on July 24, 1960, to Larry Phillip and Mary Mavaline (Underwood) Miller, who survive.
Darla graduated from McCulloch Middle School. She began working at Carey Services at the age of 18 and was very active in the events that took place there. One of Darla's loves was music, with her favorite musician being Elvis himself. She also enjoyed dancing and was involved in Special Olympics for several years, always placing in track and the softball throw. Darla attended New Hope Baptist Church, as well as other churches in Grant County.
It goes without saying that Darla will be remembered as a happy, loving, and playful young woman. She will be missed by her family and a host of friends and co-workers.
Survivors include her parents, Larry Phillip (Mary Mavaline) Miller; sisters, Pamela (Chris) Baldwin, Fort Wayne, Phillis (Rodney) White, Sweetser, and Carol (Rodney) Stevenson, Fort Wayne; nieces, Heather, Tiffany, Sarah, Audrey, Amber, and Lyndsey; nephews, Adam, Joshua, and Matthew; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Cathy Cummings.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Darla's funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Tim Hewitt will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
