Obituary of Kenneth Goodpaster
Kenneth Goodpaster, 86, Marion, died in his home at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, and he is now reunited with his lovely bride, Emma Jean (McCarty) Goodpaster, who just preceded him in death on January 18, 2018. Kenneth was born in Plat City, Missouri, on August 31, 1931, to the late Annliza Flood.
Kenneth worked at Omni Construction, where he was a machine operator. He was a very caring and giving man who loved his family and cherished each moment he could spend with them. Sitting out on his front porch enjoying the outdoors was one of his favorite things to do. Kenneth attended Eighth Street Wesleyan Church in Marion. He also loved to be in Kentucky, his real home.
He is survived by his children, Vickie (Bob) Danser, Sharon Kay (George) Turner, and Robin (Tim) Austin, all from Marion; grandchildren, Mike (Dawn) Danser, Missy (Arnold) Arenas, Steven (Scherrae) Turner, George Turner, James Turner, Jennifer Bolding, Joshua Hickman, and Andrew Hickman; great-grandchildren, Marni Chagala, Tori Danser, Elijah Danser, Oscar Arenas, Skyller Arenas, Madison Hunter, Alec Turner, Arin Turner, and Eleanor James; brothers, Manuel Goodpaster, Lagro, and Martin Sorrell, Owingsville, Kentucky; and sisters, Ada C. Wells, Milford, Ohio, and Kathy Tapp, Owingsville, Kentucky.
The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with Kenneth's funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastors Dan Van Cise and Ben Gray will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
