Richard Ray Pogue
July 9, 1946 ~ January 30, 2018
Richard Ray Pogue, Marion, 71, died at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in his home. He was born in Wabash, Indiana to the late Paul Dean and Arline (Suddarth) Pogue. He was a graduate of Southwood High School in Wabash County and attended Indiana Business College. He married Carole S. Malott on March 18, 2002. She survives.
Richard was employed at the Marion VA Healthcare Center for over 20 years and previously worked at RCA. He was a US Navy veteran and reached the rank of Yeoman 3rd Class. Richard later joined the US Air Force National Guard. He was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God. He was a dedicated member of his church and liked being an usher on Sundays. Richard also enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, Carole, Richard is survived by a daughter, Amy (Jerry) Pogue Wright, St. Augustine, Florida and a son, R. Allen Pogue, Flagstaff, Arizona; grandchildren, Connor, Cailyn and Colin; sister, Patty Johnson and twin sister, Diane (Roger) Bartholomew; stepchildren, Carlena Baker, Pam (Mitch) Swetman, and Chad Marden; four step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Arline Pogue.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Needham Storey Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN. with Pastor Jerry Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Marion.
