I love you all so much! I am so sorry about Grandma Flo passing. She will be extremely missed. She was like a parent to me. I will miss her personality, her oh hells. Even her cutting people from pictures! Her chocolate chip cookies were the best. Her sneaky ways always made me laugh. She was to me a wonderful partner in crime. What we couldn’t come up with she always did! She loved us all in her special way. I have a lot of memories with Grandma Flo, one of my favorites when I moved to New Paris and she needed a drink she tried to roll down the window and catch irrigation water! When I said don’t drink that she ask and when I explained she of course said Oh Hell! I know we are all grieving but I am glad she is no longer in pain, I hope she is right beside Grandpa & Aunt Charlotte & Karen waiting on all of us to join them. Again I love you all. And I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I did not personally know Mrs. Haynes, but I have experienced the loss of a loved one. It is times like these that we may need to be reminded of God's guarantee regarding death and the resurrection.
Death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. God’s word says 'death is an enemy' and promises it will be 'brought to nothing'. (1Corinthians 15:26) Psalm 34:18 says, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." So, God does care about our pain and grief so much so that he guarantees the restoration of life or as one definition says, "the state of one risen from the dead".
As you know, Jesus not only spoke of the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he himself was resurrected by his Father and performed many miracles including resurrections. So, starting with Jesus, all resurrections took place here on earth giving us fore-gleams of what is to come.
God's word assures us that the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary (Revelation 21:4) because God is a promise keeper and we will have the prospect of seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15) This truth not only provides hope for the future but serves to comfort us even now.
May God bless your family and the friends of Mrs. Haynes in the days to come........
My love and prayers are with all of you. Your Mom/Grandma was so very sweet. Steve loved her.
