Linda Sue Woodring, 68, Gas City, died in her home at 9:54 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017. She was born in Marion to Sim and Bertha (Black) Collins, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Grant County. Linda married Stephen Woodring on June 20, 1970, and he survives.
Linda was a graduate of Mississinewa High School. She loved music and enjoyed dancing to the old time Rock 'n Roll. The Supremes were her favorite group. Linda loved to shop, play Bingo, and go to rummage sales and movies. More than anything, though, Linda loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen; son, Brian D. Woodring, Fort Wayne; daughter, Kristin R. (Art) Hicks, Goshen; grandchildren, A.J. Hicks and Elly Hicks; and sister, Janet King, Plainfield.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers, Jim Collins, Ferman Collins, and Sim Collins, Jr..
The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. with Linda's memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Briyin Butgereit will be officiating.
The family's preferred charity is Cancer Services of Grant County, Tower Suites, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
