Obituary of Lawrence Meador

Lawrence V. Meador, 57, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011, with his family at his side, after a two year battle with cancer.

He was born February 9, 1954 in Peru, Indiana to the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Draper) Meador. He married Marshelle Coan on October 28, 1972.

Lawrence retired from Gen Corp where he worked as a press operator and janitor and worked part time at Florines as a bartender. He was a member of the Jonesboro American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR and loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Marshelle Meador; son, Auggie (Jolene) Meador, Kokomo; daughter, Monica (Jeremiah Joseph) Meador, Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Chance Meador, Marion, KimberLei Rhum, Jonesboro, Brooklyn Meador, Kokomo; brother, Aubrey Meador, Marion; sisters, Marilyn (Rick) Meador, Lowe, Alabama; Marlena Main, Indianapolis, Darlena Wilkerson, Carmel, Martha "Jonell" (Aaron) Cummins, Winchester; mother-in-law, Marjorie Coan, Marion.

He was preceded in death by parents, James and Mary Meador; father-in-law, Richard Coan.

Funeral service is at 11:30 Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave, Marion with Pastor Jeff Horsman officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the funeral home.
