Obituary of Karen R. Catt
Karen R. (Bradford) Catt, 62, Swayzee, passed away at Lutheran Hospital at 4:44 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. A lifelong resident of Grant County, Karen was born in Marion on February 9, 1957, to the late Robert Ray and Donna Kay (Thompson) Bradford. She graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1975 and nursing school in Marion in 1979.
Karen worked as an LPN at Thomson Consumer Electronics and Marion General Hospital, retiring after many years of service. In her younger years, she was a waitress at Country Inn in Swayzee. She enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as sewing. She liked horses and had participated in many horse shows in 4-H. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed going to their sporting events.
She is survived by her children: Kelly (Joshua) Grimes, Marion; David (JoAnn) Hardcastle, Converse; and Glenn “Leebo” Catt, Swayzee; grandchildren, Chelsey (Sam) Flanigan, Bo (Brea) Ketring, Brody Hardcastle, Aidan Hardcastle, Tommy Williams, and Faith Katelyn Williams; great-grandchildren, Iris, Roxie, Brantley, Rayden, Kayus, Camden, Cylus, and Rhyse; brother, Dennis (Kathi) Bradford; twin sister, Sharon (Mike) Chism; sister, Pamela Williams; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and best friends, Marcie, Nina, and Alisa.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee IN.
Karen’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
