Obituary of Nancy Ellen Wilson

Nancy Ellen Wilson, 73, Gas City, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion.  She was born in Marion on April 24, 1946, to the late Charles Leroy “Pug” and Carolyn Joan (Nelson) McCoy.

Nancy was a lifelong employee at Kmart.  During the time she was there, she had held every position in the store and was a faithful employee for over 40 years.  She was an extremely hard worker and retired in 2006.  Nancy was a huge fan of IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts, and she especially liked Peyton Manning.  Some of her favorite hobbies were crafting, sketching, and reading her books.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Riggs, Marion; sister, Teresa (Richard) Barnard, Huber Heights, OH; brother, Charles “Chuck” (Sherry) McCoy, Jr., Gas City; grandchildren, Hannah Joann McPherson and Karly Reagan Riggs; great-granddaughter, Ivory Rose Carter; nephews, Micah Hiles, Jeremy McCoy, and Joshua McCoy; nieces, Katie Koepp and Elizabeth Barnard; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; lifelong friend, Pam Ashmore; and Kmart buddies, Don, Brenda, and Shanelle.

The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019.  Pastor David Morris will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
