Obituary of Susan J. Turner
Susan J. (Foy) Turner, 73, from Marion, went to be with the Lord at 9:41 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Marion General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Gas City, Susan was born on September 13, 1945, to the late Woodrow and Katherine (Ross) Wilson.
Susan was a graduate of Mississinewa High School and attended Wright Beauty College. On October 11, 1964, she married her loving husband, Richard Turner, and they had two children, Traci and Nick. Susan was mainly a stay-at-home mom but also taught classes at Wright Beauty College. She had a passion for ironing, enjoyed both baking and cooking, watching cooking shows, and taking care of others, especially her family which always came first. Susan was a member of Jones Chapel.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Richard; daughter, Traci (Waylon) Zollinger, Fairmount; son, Nick Turner, Marion; granddaughter, Brandy Blackburn, Indianapolis; and her fur babies, Baby and Peaches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Foy.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Susan’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor John Lenfesty and Pastor Dave Kahkola will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
