Douglas “Doug” Eugene Voland, Marion, 77, passed away at 7:52 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019, in Marion General Hospital. He was born in Gas City on August 2, 1941, to the late Charles and Goldie Voland.
Doug retired from Glass Containers, where he was fork truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, watching races, collecting Coke memorabilia, but especially spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his daughter, Shawn (Brian Bright) Dickerson, Marion; grandchildren: Brandon Dickerson, Marion; Justin (Amber) Dickerson, Marion; and Kayla Dickerson, Noblesville; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Leona Cummings, Ruby Crosby, Emogene Alexander, Melvin Voland, Floyd Voland, and Louis Buckler, as well as his granddaughter, Brandy Dickerson.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Doug’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Morris officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
