Obituary of Larry D. Nelson
Larry D. Nelson, 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in his home. He was born on December 8, 1947, to the late William J. and Mildred N. Nelson.
Larry graduated from Van Buren High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Viciki Ingram, on August 18, 1969. He was then drafted to the United States Army in September of 1969, serving during the Vietnam War in Anchorage, Alaska. After serving his country, Larry returned home and began farming his land. He was a fence builder who worked very hard his entire life. In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing. He was an extremely dedicated husband and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Viciki; sons, Larry (Andrea), Michael, James, Danny, Randy (Linda); five grandchildren, Makayla, Makenzie, Kylor, Lila, and William; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred; brother, William D.; and sisters, Joann and Shirley.
A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
