Obituary of Sam Eugene "Pal" Good
Sam Eugene “Pal” Good, 90, Marion, passed away at 10:02 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Marion General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Grant County, Sam was born on October 29, 1928, to the late Samuel L. and Viora (Christopher) Good. He married his wife, Barbara Ervin, on May 20, 1950, and she survives.
Sam retired from AEP, where he worked in maintenance. He enjoyed horses, working in his garage, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Marion 7th Day Adventist Church and the Circle G Saddle Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Barbara; daughters, Barbara Hiatt, Marion, and Pat (Charlie) Hosale, Upland; sister, Marcell Carroll, Jonesboro; brothers, Richard (Wanda) Good, Marion, and Roy “Punk” (Nancy) Good, TN; granddaughter, Samantha Elston, Marion; and great-granddaughter, Hazel Elston, Marion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Good, Marge Morris, Mick Good, and Juanita Miller.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Sam’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 7th Day Adventist Church, 1702 E. Bradford Pike, Marion, IN. Pastors Joseph Quilles and Louis Rivas will be co-officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
