Obituary of Geraldine "Gerry" Turner
Geraldine “Gerry” Turner, 88, Marion, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. She was born in Jonesboro on December 14, 1930, to Walter and Helen (Romey) Jones. On October 1, 1955, she married her loving husband, Andy Turner, and they shared 53 years together before he preceded her in death on June 14, 2009.
Gerry was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and worked at Marion General Hospital in the 1950s, where she was an RN. She was actively involved with the Antique Club, and she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, and playing cards. Gerry loved family time, and she especially loved camping and going to Florida in the winter with Andy.
She is survived by her son, Robin Turner, Gas City; daughter, Dawn (Kevin) Buck, Marion; step-daughters: Pam (Scott) Lovings, Tucson, AZ; Andrea (Steve) Weston, Starke, FL; grandchildren, Patrick Lovings, Donella Lovings, Andre Lovings, J.T. Hutchison, Levi (Michelle) Hutchison, Katrina Hutchison, Travis (Shannon) Hutchison, Brian (Angela) Buck, Jeremy Buck, Adam (David) Miller, Megan (Martin) Buck; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Snapp; sisters-in-law, Janie Elliott, Geraldine Turner, Betty Turner, Meta Turner; and brother-in-law, Dick (Susan) Turner.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Andy; brothers, Kenny Jones and Martin Jones; and sister, Judy Stuttle.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Following the time of visitation, the family will have a committal service at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery.
