Obituary of Jane Mitchener

 

Jane Mitchener, 74, Marion, went to be with the Lord in her home at 2:34 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019.  A lifelong resident of Marion, Jane was the daughter of Harold and Delores Mullen.  On September 25, 1999, she married Richard Mitchener, and he survives.

 

Jane graduated from Marion High School and later worked for MCS for 10 years. She was a homemaker who loved shopping, being at the beach in Florida, reading Amish books, gardening, watching HGTV Bingo Club. She loved spending time with her grandkids, as well as her sisters, whom she affectionately referred to as, “The Gang”. 

 

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Michelle) Uptegraft, Peru, IN, Kay (Brad) Heer, Cicero, IN, Kristy (John) Salter, Marion, Brian (Julie) Mitchener, O'Fallon, IL, and Brenda (Doug) Ballinger, Marion; grandchildren, Caleb, Johnathon, Erin, Carter, Zoey, Brody, Andy, Krieg, Abby, Chandler, Spencer, and Tanner; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and siblings, Kay (Dick) Kibbey, Becky (Mike) Marsh, Lois (John) Wolski, Tricia Mullen, Debbie (Steve) Straub, and Nancy Mullen.

 

Along with her parents, Jane was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Mullen and Mickey Mullen; first husband of over 33 years, Roger Uptegraft; and sister, Joyce Mullen.

 

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Jim Sonnefield officiating.  Jane has chosen to be cremated.
