Obituary of Janice L. Keith
Janice L. Keith, 81, Marion, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on October 24, 1937, to the late Floyd LeGrand and Louise Mildred (Ramsey) Watrous.
Janice graduated from Huntington High School and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Parkview in Fort Wayne. She retired from Marion General Hospital, where she was an RN for twelve years. She had also worked one year at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, as well as at Westminster Presbyterian Preschool. She was President of Jaycee Wives and a member of both Westminster Presbyterian and Tri Kappa Sorority.
Some of Janice’s favorite hobbies and activities included knitting with knitting machines, going to craft shows with her mother, watching TV, playing cards, and eating out with her friends. She especially enjoyed the times when she went camping with her family, going to Barbee Lake, and traveling internationally. Janice was also a big Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly K. (John) Marshall, Marion; Todd (Linda) Keith, Marion; Brian D. (Tammy) Keith, Brownsburg; and Brenda D. (Jeff) Dean, Southport; grandchildren: Tyler (Miranda) Keith, Swayzee; Brandon (Erika) Keith, Brownsburg; Eric (Emily) Dean, Raleigh, NC; Jennifer (Seth) Bates, W. Lafayette; Makayla Keith, Brownsburg; Christy Dean, Southport; and Rachel Dean, Southport; great-grandchildren: Haven Grace Keith, Benson David Keith, Ava Marie Miller, and another great-grandchild on the way; brother, William L. (Dorothy) Watrous, Racine, WI; sister-in-law, Linda Watrous, Kokomo; and several nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin LeGrand Watrous.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Janice’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory.
