Obituary of Eliza Dickerson
Eliza Dickerson, 86, Marion, passed away in her home at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on November 25, 1932, to the late Curtis and Zellena (Stevenson) Dickerson.
Eliza was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Central State College. She retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics (formerly RCA) after 40 years of service and attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Gas City.
Traveling was one of her favorite things to do, especially to Europe, Scandinavian countries, and Upper Peninsula. She also enjoyed going to casinos, dancing, fishing and cruises. She was actively involved with the Senior Citizens of Grant County and served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of the Red Hat Mamas Club.
She is survived by her children: Brian (Pam) Burbank, Gas City; Nadine Burbank, Gas City; Carol (Rick) Elliott, Silver Lake; Dale Burbank, Silver Lake; Gail Lindley, O’Fallon, MO; Jim Burbank, Gas City; Mike (Barbara) Burbank, Gas City; Craig Burbank, Churdan, IA; and Carolyn Burbank, Gas City; grandchildren, Lynn (Adam) Reed, Erica Elliott, Scott (Dawn) Lindley, Angela (Marshawn) Southern, Aaron (Christy) Burbank, Andrew (Amber) Burbank, Jennifer (Mike) Stone, Nathan (Tia) Burbank, Patrick (Missy) Burbank, Brennan Burbank, Brodie (Maegan) Burbank, Brad Burbank, Sabrina Burbank, Catherine Burbank, Tiffany Burbank, and Stephen Burbank; special granddaughter, Erica Streaty; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by “My Guy” Rey Burbank; her brothers, Curtis Dickerson Jr. and Willie F. Dickerson; and son, Robert Burbank.
The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, Eliza’s funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
