Betty was born on September 17, 1928, in Marion and was a lifelong resident of Grant County.  She graduated from Marion High School in 1946 and attended beauty college.  She married her loving husband, Quentin H. Betty was actively involved at her church at Bethel AME, where she was a member, Past President of the church choir, Past President of Bethel AME Church Delores Kennedy Williams Missionary Society for over 20 years, and member of the Lay Organization and holds the office of Chaplain.

She was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police Ladies Auxiliary.  She also served as Past Secretary of the Republican Central Committee and the Black Republicans.  Betty was recognized as a 1996 Tribute to Women honoree.

Betty will be remembered for how much she loved the Lord with all of her heart and served Him faithfully inside and outside the church.  Her life gave witness of Christ to everyone she met.
