Obituary of Marden "Harlan" Warren
Marden “Harlan” Warren, 86, Swayzee, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown.
Harlan was born in Ozone, Arkansas, on November 19, 1932, to the late Marden and Ruby Ruth (Harlan) Warren. He and his family moved to Indiana and lived in Swayzee since 1946. On August 10, 1951, Harlan married his loving bride, Joyce Ilene Davis, and they had five children: Stephen, Brian, Judy, Cheryl, and Alisa. Harlan was a die maker at Fisher Body and retired in 1986, at which time he and Joyce moved to Florida. After living in the Sunshine State for 20 years, Harlan and Joyce moved back to Indiana. He was a member of UAW 977.
Harlan was a very skilled craftsman and carpenter, and he was “overall good with his hands”. He loved conversing with others, and he was also a practical jokester because he loved to make people laugh. If anyone was ever in need of anything, he was always there to help out in whatever way he could. Harlan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his son, Brian (Gayle) Warren, LaFontaine; daughters, Cheryl Simmons, Kokomo; Alisa (Elvis) Binnion, Swayzee; Judy Martin, Sims; brothers: Edward Warren, Port Charlotte, FL; Curtis (Anna Mae) Warren, Sims; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, who passed away on July 14, 2009; a son, Stephen Warren; brother, Howard Warren; and a grandson, Chad Binnion.
