The employees of Marion Utilities and the Marion Utility Service Board are extending our sympathy with Gene's passing. Gene was a former member of the Utility Service Board. His knowledge and willingness to help his community were always appreciated. We know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
I will always remember his kindness and friendly, smiling face, at the furniture store when I was little, with my parents and whenever we’d see them out shopping.
It just seems like yesterday. Missing the old times...
Meeting Gene and his late wife was a wonderful experience. He was a true gentleman. I am so grateful for his service on the Municipal Utility Service Board. He was a real asset to Marion and will be missed.
I will always remember visiting Morris Furniture with my parents as a young child. They bought most of their furniture from Gene, and passed the tradition on to me as a young adult. Mom was confident she was getting good quality furniture at a fair price. I remember My Dad taking me there to shop for Mom a picture for Christmas. I still have many pieces that were purchased at Morris furniture, that were passed down to me. Gene will be remembered by me for his kindness and welcoming smile.
My Sincere condolences to his family.
Joni: My family remembers your stepfather from the years that he owned & managed Morris Furniture. Also, we met your mother & stepfather through a mutual acquaintance, Mildred Pheiffer. Gene & Lois were very nice, Christian people. We are so sorry about your loss. We send you our sincere condolences. Our prayers are with you and your family. I graduated from Marion High School in 1974. Also, you and I attended beauty school at the same time (The Craig Luthy School Of Hair Design).
My condolence to the Christopher family & friends. As you cherish the many fond memories of Mr. Christopher, may you be comforted by the promise at Revelation 21:4-5. Jehovah God guarantees that He will soon eliminate sickness, death & sorrow.
May God’s word & the prayers of many provide you the comfort to endure each day, as we await the fulfillment of his many promises! (Acts 24:15; Isaiah 26:19)
We believe that the concept of service is of enormous value to individuals, communities, and society in general.
