Claudia “Kay” King, 76, Gas City, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 7:21 a.m. on August 4, 2018. She was born on December 22, 1941, to Claude and Kathryn (Ireland) Atkinson in Marion.
Kay attended Mississinewa High School and graduated in 1959. She married the love of her life, Robert King, on July 1, 1960. She, along with her husband, owned and operated B&B Restaurant. Kay enjoyed spending time at their lake house, traveling, reading, starring in movies, and entertaining friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert; sons, Richard King, Los Angeles, California, and Robert Douglas, Greenwood; daughter, Teresa (Bill) Wallace, Fishers; brother, Beryl (Debbie) Atkinson; sisters-in-law, Marcia Atkinson, Gas City, Pat Atkinson, The Villages, Florida, and Nancy Ballinger; brothers-in-law, Ben King and Rick King; grandsons, Adam Crouch, Gas City, and Sean (Jennifer) Crouch, Houston, Texas; great-grandson, Carson Crouch, Houston, Texas; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Kathyrn (Ireland) Atkinson; brothers, Mike Atkinson and Carl Atkinson; and sister, Janice Gaskin.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 5 p.m. with Kay’s funeral service beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Mark Atkinson will be officiating.
