Kenneth Leverton, 96, Marion, died at 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Born in Grant County on January 6, 1922, to Cordie and Anna (Wisehart) Leverton, Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Marion. He graduated from Marion High School in 1940 and served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Bell Fibre after 37 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching the Chicago Cubs, whom he followed since 1938. He also enjoyed local high school and college sports. Kenneth’s giving spirit was shared by all through his Christmas gifts and special birthday cards.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill (Cheryl) Leverton; granddaughters, Kristen Leverton, Laura (Brent) Smith, and Anne Marie (Jeff) Moser; great-grandchildren, Travis, Alaina, Tess, Gavin, Garrett, and Isaac; and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Margarette Semans; and his wife, Marjorie, in 1970.
A graveside service for Kenneth will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Estates of Serenity, 1101 S. Lincoln Blvd., Marion, IN. Dr. Paul and Dr. Cheryl Thomas will be officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
