I don’t even know where to start. I was the nurse that originally admitted him. I didn’t get to take care of him every day, but the days I did I would walk into his room and say “Hey Mikey Mike, how's my favorite resident?” And he would always give me a look and say “What?” When told him I was going on vacation and would see him when I got back I never imagined that I would not see him again. I didn’t return to work until June 10th. To his family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know, for me, it’s not ‘good bye’ it’s til I get to see you again. Love you Mike, always.
There are few experiences more difficult than losing a loved one in death. May you find comfort in knowing death, sickness & sorrow were not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. His word is clear, “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces”. (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:4)
Further, Jesus guaranteed the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he performed resurrections and was himself resurrected by his Father. All resurrections took place on earth, giving us a glimpse of what is to come.... seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15)
Until his promises are fulfilled, may Jehovah God continue to bless & comfort you in the days ahead as you cherish the many fond memories of Mr. Nelson....
Chris and Gary --
My heart goes out to both of you for your loss. I have fond memories of your Dad's gentle spirit throughout grade school and high school. We never met through the years without an exchange of good will and cheerful banter. May kind memories and the support of loved ones help ease your burden.
Mike was a really nice guy that I always thought a lot of. I have known the Nelson family for 50 years or so and we were neighbors. I was so sad when I was told of his stroke and then this latest news that he had passed. I know the love his family has for him will never let his memory fade. My heard breaks for all of you as you lay Mike to rest. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Rest In Peace Mike.
My condolences to all. Sorry for your loss. Mike was family and dearly loved. On behalf of the Greene / Shively, family praying for Blessings to all the Nelson family. — Amen
Chris and Gary,
