Obituary of Jo Ellen Berry

Jo Ellen “Jodi” Berry, 72, Marion, passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.  She was born in Marion on November 12, 1945, to the late James and Geneva (Lamb) Harreld.  On October 16, 1992, Jodi married Billy F. Berry, and he survives.

Jodi was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and retired from Foster-Forbes, where she was a carton assembler for 21 ½ years.  She enjoyed traveling, especially to Texas to visit her family, reading, and shopping, and she used to crochet.  Jodi attended Rivers of Living Water Church, where she played the piano.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Billy; children, Brian (Robin) Freeman, Marion, Rhonda (Harold) Hodge, Gas City, Eddy Berry, Marion, Calvin Berry-Pooler, Georgia, Alvin (Susan) Berry, Kemp, Texas, Debbie (Larry) Hymes, Alexandria, Billy G. (Eva) Berry, Marietta, Georgia, Ladonna (David) Christmas, Russellville, Kentucky, and Phyllis Berry, Bowling Green, Kentucky; 2 grandchildren, Cameron Freeman and Jaymond (Michalea) Dyson; 14 step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sister, Karen Hettig, Marion.

Also preceding her in death were her brother, Ronald Harreld, and grandson, Jameson Freeman.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with Jodi’s funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family’s preferred memorial is Grant County Sheriff Chaplaincy Program, 214 E. 4th St., Marion, IN 46952.
