Obituary of Ethel Veronica Beck

Ethel Veronica Beck, 99, 505 N. Bradner Ave. (formerly of Euclid Ave.), died in 1:05 p.m. Friday at Bradner Village Health Care Center.

Ethel was born in Dietrich, Ill., to the late George and Anna (Overbeck) Westendorf. She moved to Marion in the 1930s. She married Alfred J. Beck on Dec. 27, 1927. He died Jan. 21, 1998. She was formerly employed at Dailey Brothers Shoe Factory & Butterworth's Inc. and was also a cook at Bennett High School for several years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Thomas (Rosetta) Beck, Marion; a daughter, Marilyn Miles, Indianapolis; sisters, Helen F. Pfenning and Marcella Yohler, both of Marion; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue. Online condolences may be made at www.nswcares.com.
