Obituary of Philip Edward Stith
Philip Edward Stith Sr., 73, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday in his home.
He was born in Marion to Edward B. and Nellie M. (Strain) Stith. He married Betty Lou Surber on May 26, 1951.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of AMVETS and American Legion. He retired from Marion General Hospital and the Marion VA Medical Center.
Survivors include wife, Betty Lou Stith, Marion; daughter, Lori Ann (David) Prater, Swayzee; son, Philip Edward (Bonnie) Stith Jr., Sims; sister, Florence Mankin, Marion; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Coleen Page.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with the Rev. Joel Flowers officiating. Burial is in Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
