Obituary of William H. Croucher

William H. Croucher, 77, died at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday in Marion General Hospital.

He was born in Gas City, the son of the late Oscar L. and Ola Mae (Williams) Croucher. Both parents preceded him in death. He was employed by General Motors for 32 years. He was an Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 95, Jonesboro. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting. He married Violet Mills on October 12, 1962, and she survives.

Additional survivors include sons, Billy (Anita) Croucher, Marion, Monty (Sheila) Croucher, Huntington, Keith Croucher (fiancee Melissa), and Gordon Croucher, both of Gas City; a daughter, Susie Francis, Gas City; brothers, Oscar (Dorothy) Croucher, Jr., Saginaw, Mich., Walter (Janice) Croucher and Russell Croucher, both of Jonesboro; sisters, Lovette Brown, Jonesboro, and Pricilla Jones, Gas City; 15 grandchildren, Steve Croucher, Stacy Underwood, Keith Alan Croucher Jr., Marissa Croucher, Kara Croucher, Corey Croucher, Brody Croucher, Lacy Croucher, Amanda Croucher, Colette Croucher, Curtis Croucher, Shannon McCarty, John Francis, Elijah Scott and Destinee Scott; step-granddaughter, Tina Couch; stepgreat-granddaughter, Jessica Couch; stepgreat-grandson, Joshua Floranna; and six great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Willis; a son, Terry Croucher; a brother, Ray Croucher; and a great-grandchild, Kelbee Croucher.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main Street, with the Rev. Nanci Rosinski officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home.
