Obituary of Margie A. Fessenden

Margie A. Fessenden, 91, formerly of 4307 S. Poplar St., died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday in Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine.

She was born in Bath, S.D., to the late Robert D. and Grace Hughes. She married William P. Fessenden in 1939. He died in October 1989.

Mrs. Fessenden was a homemaker and babysat for many families. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of College Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are daughters, Virginia (Conrad) Spearman, Anderson, Cheryl St. Clair, Marion, and Carolyn (Tony) Szabados, Springfield, La.; daughter-in-law, Alexis Fessenden, Marion; sisters, Florence Hughes, Aberdeen, S.D., and Elsie (Clayton) Borchardt, Brookings, S.D.; special friend, Denise Cox, Marion; grandchildren, Shaun (Renee) Sellers, Noblesville, Jonnie (Fiance, Tobie) Sellers, Indianapolis, Kellie (Jeff) Jones-Lee, Nineveh, Erika (Eddie) Seifert, Slidell, La., Alison Fessenden, Muncie, and Jaime and Matthew Spearman, both of Anderson; stepgrandchild, Elaine (Larry) Spearman-Taylor, Anderson; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, William E. Fessenden; son-in-law, Charles St. Clair; two brothers; and a sister.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with the Rev. Andy Schramm officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
