Obituary of Judith E. Ricks

Judith E. "Judy" Ricks, 66, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital.

She was born in Indianapolis to the late Roy and Dorthea (Stagg) Abshire and had lived in Indianapolis for the past four years.

She formerly lived in Marion, Fort Wayne and Elkhart. She married Frank Ricks on July 15, 1977. He survives. She was a school bus driver for the Fort Wayne Community Schools and former driver for Beeline Taxi in Marion. She was a member of I.S.T.A. Union and Assembly of God Church, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She was well liked by everyone, outgoing and enjoyed being involved. She was an avid reader.

Additional survivors include children, Bob (Tammy) Abshire, Marion, and Cathy Jett, Indianapolis; a brother, Steve (Nita) Abshire, Yoder; step-brothers, Donnie (Carol) and Melvin Jacks, both of Marion, and Tom Jacks, Texas; stepsister, Bonnie (Truman) Stevens, Marion; grandchildren, Jennifer and Josh Walker, and Brian Jett; several great-grandchildren; and family friend James "Andy" (Ada) Ebert, Marion.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with the Rev. Mike Durham officiating. Burial is at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Holton Cemetery, Holton.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
