Obituary of Nettie A. Murray

Nettie A. Murray, 80, 2010 S. George St., died at 11 p.m. Wednesday in Wesleyan Health Care Center.

She was born in Marion to the late Fred and Sally (Johnson) Elliott and was a resident of Marion most of her life. She married Cornelius Neal Murray Jr. on March 9, 1946. He died March 5, 1996. She retired from RCA after 19 1/2 years. She was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church and the Marion-Grant County Senior Center. She enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League at Crest Lanes. She also enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include sons, Freddie N. (Linda) Murray and Jackie Murray, both of Marion; grandchildren, Belinda Murray, Roger (Natalie) Murray and Larry Murray; and six great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Orville and Billy Elliott; and a sister, Lorena Battenberg.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, with the Rev. Gary Bingham officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
