Reba Carol Hofer, 87, Marion, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Dunkirk on November 20, 1931, to the late Louis and Esther (Williams) McCollum. On April 3, 1956, Reba married Jack Delano Hofer, and they enjoyed 56 years together before he passed on August 13, 2012.
Reba worked in the Testing Department at RCA and retired after 38 years of service. She was a past member of Gas City Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 95, and AmVets Post 5 in Marion. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her sons: Aaron Hofer, Marion, and Anthony (Stacy) Hofer, Marion; brother, Louis Allen (Sue) McCollum, Jr., Hartford City; sister, Anna Mae (Gordon) Vance, Spring Hill, FL; brother-in-law, Earl Conners, Hartford City; grandchildren: Dustin (Mallory) Hofer, Lambertville, MI; Ashley Hofer, Gas City; and Jessica Hofer, Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren: Delaney Hofer, Converse; Dayton Hofer, Converse; Allison Heal, Lambertville, MI; and Marshall Hofer, Lambertville, MI.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Conners.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Reba’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
