Danny Ray Devers, Sr., 67, passed away in his Gas City home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. He was born in Muncie on May 25, 1951, to William R. and Barbara (Whitaker) Devers, Sr., and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
Following Danny’s graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 26, 1971. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Drivers Badge, and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. He was honorably discharged on October 25, 1972.
On October 21, 1988, Danny married Eleanor “Lori” Fowler, and they had three children: Danny, Amanda, and Kassondra. He worked for 32 years at BorgWarner until his retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Lori; son, Danny Devers, Jr.; daughters, Amanda Devers and Kassondra (Adam) Gibson; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Seth, and Eli Devers; great-grandson, Braedon Devers; and brother, William Devers, Jr..
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jackie Joe Devers.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, Danny’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Sexton officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
