Joy D. Wickline, 66, from Marion, is now seeing Jesus face to face and resting in His arms. She entered Heaven at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Joy was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on September 17, 1952, to Robert and Jean (Edwards) Jackson. She received her bachelor’s degree and worked as an occupational therapist throughout her career. On July 15, 1972, she married her loving husband, Donald “Don” Wickline, and they raised two children, Mike and Sherry.
“Volunteer”, “helper”, and “prayer warrior” were just a few of the many words which accurately described Joy. She loved the Lord deeply and her life in service to others reflected that love. She not only faithfully served her church at Mt. Olive UMC in many capacities, but she also served others through missions locally, nationally, and internationally. She loved the role of wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished the times she could spend with her family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Don; mother, Jean Jackson; son, Mike Wickline, Marion; daughter, Sherry Mauller, Marion; grandchildren: Hope Garrity, MI; Lexe Wickline, Marion; Cpl. Chris Wickline, U.S. Army stationed in Fort Drum, NY; Alex Guy, Marion; Ally Mauller, Marion; Austin Beetz, Greensburg; Andrea Murray, Marion; and siblings: Ed (Linda) Jackson, San Diego, CA; Jill (Marty) Chaffee, Davisburg, MI; Donna (John) Canavan, Kalamazoo, MI; Tina (Morgan) Reed, Comstock, MI.
Her father, Robert Jackson, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 2015 N. 300 W., Marion, IN.
