Amari Grace Daake

Amari Grace Daake, precious 11-month-old daughter of Tyson and Nicole (Holesinger) Daake, passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, after a courageous battle with chronic lung disease.

Born at 25 weeks on April 14, 2018, Amari was a fighter from the very beginning.  She may have been small, but she was truly mighty.  Although she was sick, she didn’t act like it.

Amari had a smile that would light up a room.  She was extremely social and liked to watch people, especially while at Dupont Hospital.  The nurses would say that she was a little diva.  They won’t forget seeing her and her favorite pacifier with the elephant in her mouth.  She dearly loved her siblings and loved it when Mommy and Daddy would hold her.

When Amari’s mom and dad took her home for the first time, it was a huge deal because she had been at Dupont for 21 weeks in NICU.  Her parents immediately went to Sunday night church to celebrate her homecoming.  Her life will forever be remembered and the impact she had on countless people in such a short time.

She is survived by her loving parents, Tyson (Nicole) Daake, Marion; sisters, RebekahAnn Daake and Esther Daake, both from Marion; brother, Ezra Daake, Marion; maternal grandparents, Clark (Beverly) Holesinger, Valparaiso; paternal grandparents, Michael (Jennifer) Daake, Indianapolis; great-grandparents, Calvin (Erma) L’Heureux, Ron (Bonnie) Daake, Linda Daake, and Clarence (Hennie) VanEssen; great-great-grandma, Lona Kuehn; aunts and uncles, Steve (Amanda) Hedges, Francisco (Natasha) Lopez, Kendal Holesinger, Zach (Elizabeth) Moore, and Christian Daake; and many cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles.

Her great-grandparents, Robert and Shirley Holesinger, preceded her in death.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. with Amari’s funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, 2960 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
