Dr. Marvin H. Hinds, 89, Marion, now joins his beloved wife, Hazel, and has received his reward of eternity in Heaven. Marvin was born in Franklin County, Indiana, on October 25, 1928, and was the son of the late Charles E. and Maude (Hammer) Hinds. He married Hazel Lavera Rush, who went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2018.

Additionally, as a bio-engineer, he researched at Purdue University for 15 summers, and he helped design defibrillators and patent a medical device. In his community, Marvin served as Past President of the Indiana Chapter of the American Scientific Affiliation.
Marvin’s service also extended to his home church at College Wesleyan, of which he was a member and where he was the Senior Director of Best Years Fellowship. He loved his church family and he loved his Lord, whom he served faithfully.
In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, helping his family with home improvement projects, and attending IWU athletic events. Marvin loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an intelligent man, yet a humble and devoted man who impacted many people over the course of his life. What a life well-lived and well-loved by many!
