Obituary of Charles Faunce
Charles "Chuck" William Faunce, 80, Gas City, went to be with the Lord in his home at 5:55 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018. He was born in Gas City to the late Arthur and Sarah "Sadie" Faunce on April 23, 1937. On September 21, 1985, he married the love of his life, Helen Williams-Coffel, and she survives.
Chuck attended Mississinewa Schools and worked at Owens-Illinois, RCA, and then, for 37 years, worked at General Motors where he eventually retired in 1997. He also ran Gas City Bait & Tackle with his brothers. Chuck was a member of First Baptist Church in Gas City. He loved rooting for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears, as well as the Indiana Hoosiers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His proudest sporting moment was seeing the Cubs win the 2016 World Series. Chuck also loved bowling, fishing, and scratching lottery tickets. He was a jokester but always had a heart of gold. More than anything, he loved his family, and that can also be said about his pets. He also loved feeding squirrels and birds.
Chuck will also be remembered for having the biggest smile and bluest eyes. He was never afraid to speak his mind. He cherished his life with Helen and always loved taking her out to eat at Applebee's or Cracker Barrel.
