Greg Edmonds

Obituary of Greg Edmonds

Greg “Eddie” Edmonds, 54, Marion, passed away in his home at 10:21 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018.  He was born in Warsaw, Indiana, on July 8, 1963, to the late Kenneth H. and Mary Ann (White) Edmonds.  He married Sue Ann “Sammy” Myers on June 30, 1991, and she survives.

Eddie was a 1982 graduate of Marion High School and the President of his graduating class.  He began his career working as a salesman at Kenny Bob Automotive and then became employed at Collins Group, where he was the Vice President of Web Development.  Eddie taught himself how to code and was instrumental in creating the original website for STAR Financial, among many others.  He was also the owner of Sitecon Web Design.

Sports were a big part of Eddie’s life.  He loved to play golf, shuffleboard (a two-time Grant County Shuffleboard League Champion), and darts (he could beat anyone at the game).  Eddie was also an avid slalom skier and had a Ski Nautique that he dearly loved.  In his younger years in school, he was actively involved in tennis and was No. 1 in Doubles, making it to the state tournament twice.

All who were acquainted with Eddie knew just how much he loved life and his family.  He was kind and generous to everyone and a great brother and friend to all.  He had become a second dad to many children who visited in his home.  He and Sammy were inseparable.  Wherever Eddie was, Sammy was right by his side.  They did everything together.  He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Sammy; son, Tyler Gregory (Brittany Poore) Edmonds, Carmel; daughters, Elizabeth Myers Edmonds, Brooklyn, New York, and Brittani Zachry, Paoli; grandchildren, Lena Elaine, Ava Katherine, and Priscilla Grace Zachry; brother, Doug (Rhonda) Edmonds, Marion; sister, Cathy (Bill) Edmonds-Bindley, Malibu, California; nephew, Will Bindley; niece, Grace Bindley; and his dogs, Buddy, Kodiak, and Sirius.
