Frances M. Huston, 93, Marion, died at 11:05 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, in her home. She was born in Upland on March 26, 1924 to the late William C. and Emma O. (Shields) Runyon. Frances married Richard J. Huston on November 29, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2011.
Frances retired from the Jules Walker Law office after 19 years of service and previously worked for Walter Fisher, Grant County Assessor, for four years. Frances became a member of the Jonesboro Friends Church in 1954, where she was very involved on the Ministry and Oversight Committee, taught Sunday School, attended Bible study and was a Loyal Crusader. She loved to walk, enjoyed playing Scrabble, working crossword puzzles and watching the Pacers. She loved her family and loved spending time with them. Frances was an unconditionally loving, funny and faithful woman who was truly one of a kind. She was the glue who held her family together and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley A. (Charles) Jarrell and Cynthia R. Ludlow, both of Gas City; grandchildren, Kim (John) Ellis, Wendy (Randy) Brookshire, Kelly (Toby) Huey, Chad Haynes (Tana Roby), Amy (Jared) Reel; great-grandchildren, Zach Ellis, Matt Ellis, Jacob Ehmer, Tori Huey, C.J. Haynes, Emma Reel and Mason Reel; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Richard Michael Huston; son-in-law, Jerry B. Ludlow; three sisters, Opal Futrell, Freda Barnes, Mick Waite; two brothers, Glen Runyon and Virgil Runyon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life for Frances will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Jonesboro Friends Church, 513 S. Water St., Jonesboro, with John Ellis and Pastor Mark McKnight officiating. Entombment will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
