Gerald Brooks Johnson, 83, Marion, died at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Hendricks Regional Health Hospital. Gerald was born on April 18, 1934 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late John Johnson and Pearl N. Johnson Moody and was a graduate of Flemingsburg High School. He married Naomi Lee Butcher on February 25, 1953. She survives.
Gerald was a US Army veteran and retired from Dana Corp, Marion and also owned and operated Johnson Wright Farm Implementation. Gerald loved anything that had to do with tractors and loved to eat at Jackies's. He was a big fan of Cubs and Reds baseball.
In addition to his wife, Naomi, Gerald is survived by his children, M. Geraldine (Jeff) Ebarb, Plainfield, Jerry L. Johnson, Plainfield, and Johnny (Patty) Johnson, Cicero; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ebarb, Joel (Courtney) Ebarb, Justin Johnson, and Josh Johnson; great-grandchildren, Joey Ebarb and Gabe Ebarb.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Johnson; and sisters, Lillian Goodpaster and Eloise Hall.
The family will receive visitors from Noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, Indiana. A funeral service to celebrate Gerald's life will begin at 2 p.m. immediately following visitation with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park.
