Luther A. "Piddle" McCool
November 4, 1928 ~ December 15, 2017
Luther A. "Piddle" McCool, 89, Marion, died in his home at 11:16 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born in New Madrid, Missouri, on November 4, 1928, to the late Harvard Wayne and Izora (Johnson) McCool. Luther married his loving wife, Janice Johnson, on July 21, 1981, and she survives.
Luther worked at General Motors and retired after 30 ½ years. He was a member of the UAW. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as watching westerns and bull riding on TV.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janice; children, Roy L. McCool, Marion, Tela S. McCool, Marion, and Quentin McCool, Marion; brother, Jack McCool, Shepherd, Texas; sisters, Imogene Laminack, Shepherd, Texas, Vina McNaughton, Houston, Texas, and Judy Ray, Shepherd, Texas; 7 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special friends, Bill Lane and Rick Byrd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Jerry, Glen, and George Edward, and sisters, Lorene Rone and Joann Phillpott.
The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, with Pastor Wally Champion officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
