Ginny and family, So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Susie and families,
Gene and I are very sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. He was such a good guy, and will be missed by all of us. Know that you are in our thoughts today, and the many days to follow. Love and friendship,
Gene and Barb
I did not personally know Mr. Scheidt however, I have experienced the loss of a loved one. It is times like these that we need to be reminded of God's guarantee regarding death and the resurrection.
Death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. God’s word says 'death is an enemy' and promises it will be 'brought to nothing'. (1Corinthians 15:26) Psalm 34:18 says, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." So, God does care about our pain and grief so much so that he guarantees the restoration of life or as one definition says, "the state of one risen from the dead".
As you know, Jesus not only spoke of the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he himself was resurrected by his Father and performed many miracles including resurrections. So, starting with Jesus, all resurrections took place here on earth giving us fore-gleams of what is to come.
God's word assures us that the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary (Revelation 21:4) because God is a promise keeper and we will have the prospect of seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15) This truth not only provides hope for the future but serves to comfort us even now.
As you cherish the memories of Mr. Scheidt, may God bless your family and friends in the coming days.........
Susan I am so sorry for your loss. Family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.
We believe that the concept of service is of enormous value to individuals, communities, and society in general.
