While I did not personally know Mr. Blevins, I have experienced the loss of a loved one. So, it is with heartfelt sympathy that I share God's guarantee regarding death and the resurrection.
Psalm 34:18 says, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." Death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. The Bible assures us that God does care about our pain and grief; so much so that He says 'death is an enemy' and promises it will be 'brought to nothing'. (1Corinthians 15:26)
Jesus spoke of the restoration of life or as one definition says, "the state of one risen from the dead". (John 5:21, 28, 29)
God's word assures us that the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary (Revelation 21:4) because God is a promise keeper and we will have the prospect of seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15) This truth not only provides hope for the future but comforts us even now.
May God bless the family and the friends of Mr. Blevins in the coming days.........
I graduated with Ryan and was saddened to see his obituary. Praying for your family during such a difficult time.
Sorry to hear. We were best friends growing up.
Thinking of all you during this difficult time.
Teresa, Denny, and Ariah:
We are saddened to hear of Ryan’s passing. A life gone too soon! I remember our WHITE ROOM conversations about our girls and you about Ryan. Some good memories! I pray all your happy memories and moments carry you through especially these next few hard days and Holidays ahead.
