Obituary of Lucille Kirkpatrick
Lucille Maxine Kirkpatrick, 92, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Wesleyan Healthcare and Rehab in Marion. She was born in Steuben County on March 16, 1925, to the late Forba F. and Wava Belle (Straw) Yockey. In 1944, Lucille married Harold L. Kirkpatrick, and he preceded her in death in 1995. Lucille's life was one that was well-lived and well-loved. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior, prayed and loved reading her Bible, and has now received her eternal reward.
Lucille dedicated her life to taking care of her family in her home. She loved her grandchildren dearly and especially looked forward to playing games with, as well as baking cookies, for them. She was lovingly known as the "Cookie Lady". Lucille also used her home for babysitting. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching the Pacers and playing cards.
She will be missed by her daughters, Vicki A. Rudicel, Sandy Vest, Jackie (Roger) Fansler, and Debbie (J. Ken) Ledbetter; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Charles D. Rudicel and formerly L. Dale Vest; sister, Lenora Patterson; and two brothers, Francis Yockey and Orville Yockey.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Lucille's funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Mark Atkinson will be officiating with entombment following at Gardens of Memory.
