Daisy I. Belville, 94, lifelong resident of Marion, went to be with the Lord at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was born in Marion on October 10, 1922, to Albert and Nellie (Walton) Gray. On April 28, 1940, Daisy married Louis E. Belville, and they had just celebrated 77 years of marriage prior to his passing on April 30, 2017.
A 1940 graduate of Marion High School, Daisy worked for many years in the kitchen at Marion High School. She was then employed at Wesleyan Health Care Center and worked there until her retirement.
Daisy was actively involved with the ladies Bible study at church and was an excellent singer. She enjoyed reading, and she also had a passion for helping people. She never missed an opportunity to meet a need in someone's life.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Billie) Belville, Fort Wayne, and John D. Belville, Marion; daughter, Lee Ann (John) Hill, Upland; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Vera Gardner and Deloris Mullen.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. with Daisy's funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Rev. Brandon Petro will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
