David Daniel LaShure, Sr., 84, Converse, died in his home at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. He was born in Elwood to Homer and Helen (Croy) LaShure. He married Mary Cook on June 15, 1993, and she survives.
David served in the National Guard for six years, where he was a cook. After his service, he was a machinist for 33 years at Dana. David also was a cook at Woodsmoke and he owned De-LaShure Restaurant in Fairmount. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and cooking, and his restaurant, De-LaShure, sponsored a baseball team.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary; children, Vicki Netzley, Fairmount, Rose (Roger) Jones, Marion, David (Debbie) LaShure, Jr., Fairmount, Jerry (Theresa) LaShure, LaFontaine, Michael (Lori) LaShure, Fairmount, Amy (Randy) Eberle, Marion, and Andy Thompson, Edwardsburg, Michigan; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry LaShure, Diane Fernung, and Pam (Jim) Vest; and many extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Sam, and Jack LaShure; sister, Anita Embry; two great-grandsons, Luke and Cole LaShure; and former wife, Jewell (Davis) LaShure.
The family will have a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with David's memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Chaplain Randy Thornburg will be officiating with burial at Park Cemetery at a later date.
