Obituary of Myrtle Barbour

Mrytle "Delois" Barbour was born in Canmer, Kentucky, to William "Peck" Webster and Ida Mae Barbour on February 28, 1953. She entered into eternal peace on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

At the age of 12, Delois came to live with her brother, Charles, and sister-in-law, Jerry Ann, in Marion. She graduated from Marion High School in 1971 and from Wright's Beauty College in 1973. She worked in various beauty salons in addition to working in her home while simultaneously working at Wesleyan Health Care Center. In 1976, she gained employment at the V.A. Medical Center, from where she retired in 2008 due to illness.

Delois leaves to cherish her memory one devoted son, William Eric Barbour, Sr.; one brother, Charles Lee (Bobbie) Barbour; sisters/nieces, Cheryl Smith and Recca Black, both from Marion, and Carla Barbour, Indianapolis; grandchildren, McKenna Barbour, William Eric Barbour, Jr., Ebrynn Barbour, and Kiara Barbour, all from Marion; sisters-in-law, Shirley Barbour, Nashville, Tennessee, and Sue Barbour, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; one niece, Joyce Barbour, Nashville, Tennessee; nephews, Robbie Barbour and Colby Barbour, both from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Raymond Barbour, Marion, Jeffrey Bowlds, Indianapolis, Corey (Natalie) Black, Kokomo, Jeremaine Smith and Cyle Smith, both from Marion, and Charles Barbour-Neal, Indianapolis; and special friends, Ed (Debbie) Moore, Stella Mitchell, Theresa Smith, and Vickie Galloway.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Raymond Barbour.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Bethel AME, 324 W. 10th St., Marion. Myrtle's service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Pamela Horne officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
