Monty Lynn Campbell, 62, lifelong resident of Gas City, died in his home at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was born in Marion on September 17, 1955, to the late Edwin and Loretta (Jones) Campbell. He was raised by his mother in Gas City. Monty married Clemma Bennett on December 12, 1987, and she survives.
Monty was a graduate of Mississinewa High School and attended IU-Kokomo. He worked at Owens-Illinois/PCA in Gas City, where he was a printer. Monty loved gardening, canoeing, and playing Euchre with his family. He especially loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren, playing endlessly with them and teaching them how to play Texas Hold'em.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Clemma, Gas City; children, James (Kathy) Campbell, Noblesville, and Monica Campbell, Marion; step-children, Jeremy (Katherine) Michael, Jonesboro, and Michelle (Steve) Michael-Kendall, Gas City; grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Chandler, Cameron, Gabby, Greggory, Jaydon, Ashley, and Wesley; great-grandson, Eli; brother, Mike (Connie) Campbell, Marion; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Campbell; granddaughter, Jane Ellen Campbell; and father-in-law, Vernon Bennett.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
